The Punjab government has officially issued the Motor Transport Policy 2026 following cabinet approval, 24NewsHD reported. The new policy applies to all provincial departments across Punjab.
Under the guidelines, all purchases of electric vehicles now require approval from the Finance Department. Vehicles will be allocated to officers of grade 17 and above, while the petrol limit for all officers has been increased by 25 liters.
The Department of Services, General Administration, and Coordination (S&GAD) has formally notified the policy, making it effective across all relevant government departments.
