Telegram has released a major update introducing a redesigned interface for its Android and iOS apps, along with new features for group management and bot developers. The update is available in Pakistan as well.
The company said the Android app has been fully rebuilt to improve responsiveness and efficiency.
The most visible change in the Android update is a new bottom navigation bar. The bar allows users to switch quickly between Chats, Settings, Profile, and other sections of the app. The media gallery and the app’s settings menu have been redesigned as well.
Telegram said it rebuilt the interface code to increase performance and responsiveness. Users can also access the Settings > Power Saving menu to optimize performance and extend battery life.
On iOS, Telegram has introduced a redesigned media viewer, new preview panels for sticker and emoji packs, and updated context menus in user profiles and message selections.
For iPad users, the update adds a new keyboard shortcut to send messages using Command + Enter.
Telegram has also updated its group management system. If a group owner leaves a chat, ownership will automatically transfer to one of the group’s administrators after one week.
When leaving a group, owners will now see a confirmation window that allows them to select a new owner. Group owners can also transfer ownership to another member without leaving the group.
The update introduces a crafting system that enables users to combine collectible gifts into upgraded versions categorized as Uncommon, Rare, Epic, or Legendary.
Users can combine up to four gifts in the crafting interface. Each additional gift increases the chance of success. Using multiple gifts with matching attributes raises the likelihood those attributes will appear in the final item.
Collectible gifts can be bought and sold through Telegram’s Gift Marketplace.
The update also adds new tools for bot developers. Bots can now include emojis and colored buttons to improve interface clarity or emphasize specific actions.
Users on Android, iPhone, or iPad must update the app through their respective official app stores to access the new features.
