CDA Announces Major Beautification Drive in Islamabad Sectors

The Capital Development Authority has announced a comprehensive plan to upgrade and beautify Islamabad’s residential sectors and commercial centers, with work set to focus on infrastructure repair, landscaping and improved public facilities.

The decision was reviewed during a meeting chaired by CDA Chairman Mohammad Ali Randhawa.  Under the initiative, the authority will repair and improve existing parking areas, renovate damaged footpaths and construct cycle tracks in selected sectors and Markaz areas.

Officials said the project will also include fixing broken streetlights, enhancing overall lighting, installing new signage boards and carrying out proper lane markings to facilitate residents and visitors.

The plan further covers the repair and reconstruction of manholes and kerb stones, along with improvements to sewerage and drainage systems in both residential and commercial areas.

Landscaping work will be carried out on greenbelts and intersections, while eco-friendly plantation and restoration of flower beds will also form part of the beautification drive.

Chairman Randhawa directed officials to finalize proposed designs and adopt a comprehensive strategy to ensure timely execution. He also instructed authorities to remove encroachments and generators installed outside shops to improve accessibility and order in commercial zones.
