FIA Introduces New Recruitment Rules

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has prepared new draft rules for recruitment and promotions in Grade 16 and above. The rules will be implemented after approval from the Ministry of Interior.

Under the proposed framework, Grade 17 recruitments will be made on the recommendation of the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC).

The FIA has also created four major administrative groups: Investigation, Legal, Experts, and Ministerial.

According to the draft rules, employees must complete their entire service within their initial assigned group.

A new quota formula has been introduced to define the share of officers from the Police Service of Pakistan (PSP) and the FIA’s departmental officers.

In Grades 20 and 21, 70 percent of positions will be reserved for PSP officers, while 30 percent will go to departmental officers. In Grade 19, the ratio will be 50:50.

For Grades 17 and 18, 60 percent of posts will be allocated to departmental officers.

The new rules also bar deputation officers from being permanently absorbed into the FIA.
