Strict Action Announced Against LED and Flasher Lights on Vehicles

City Traffic Police Rawalpindi has intensified enforcement against the illegal use of LED, police style, and flasher lights on vehicles in an effort to improve road safety across the district.

Chief Traffic Officer Farhan Aslam stated that motorists who install or use unauthorized lights on cars and motorcycles commit a legal violation and will face action. He stressed that proper and standard vehicle lighting plays a critical role in safe driving, particularly at night, when visibility directly affects accident prevention.

Farhan Aslam warned that LED and flasher lights create glare and confusion for other road users, increasing the risk of collisions. He urged drivers to avoid fitting such lights and comply with traffic regulations.

Alongside enforcement measures, the department’s education wing has launched awareness activities to inform motorists about the hazards associated with non standard lighting.

The traffic police chief called on citizens to cooperate with authorities and follow road safety rules to ensure safer travel for all road users in Rawalpindi.

  • Thanks Allah at last authorities wake up and realised how dangerous and annoying are these lights operation against those lights should have started way back

    • These lights are very dangerous for ppl coming from opposite side and are very irritating.i appreciate efforts to ban these type of lights.

  • Like always there is zero action. Even on motorways where every vehicle can be fined at every entry point.

  • Would appreciate if you crack down on shops which sale these lights like AuxLed in DHA eme Lahore.

  • How uneducated they are how they controls LED Lights when they even don’t know about luminous intensity distribution (candela) and beam pattern. They even don’t know about sound and they don’t have devices to measure both.
All new cars manufacturers are using led even projector LEDs, now we have new versions of led more stronger. But here govt+departments are just searching ways for bribe. why PSQCA is not working?

  • It’s a good initiative but it won’t be affecting the cars with already built in LED lights.

  • Better late than never! Besides addressing this issue, Rawalpindi/ Taxila region in specific and whole of Pakistan in general, one more dangerous practice needs to be stopped with full force is removal of narrowly fitted high beam lights in the dumpers and trucks which at night create deceptive narrow width of the full body mass of the in coming trucks since most of them drive with their company fitted light completely off. Traffic coming from opposite side realises the required safe distance only when it’s dangerously close to the in coming dumpers at night. Traffic Police to act immediately before it’s too late.

  • In Lahore there is an increasing trend to fit blinking lights on motorcycles and flashing them against incoming vehicles. These motorcyclists must be penalalized with heavy fines.

    • Well said. I have been also suffering for that as they have synced flashing head light along brake pedal 💡.

  • When The pathetic authorities in Karachi will wake up and dismental all illegal high voltage white LED Lights and high voltage halogen yellow lights from all vehicles or announce the heavy penalty of not less than Rs. 50,000 to any violator who instead of standard, installed high voltage white LED Lights and high voltage Halogen yellow light.

  • The whole government works on optics, launching one crackdown after the other. Rawalpindi has become a traffic horror due to roadside encroachments, parking violations, overflowing main roads especially with rickshaws and motorcycles, protected u turns and security checks / speed breakers / snake turns on roads. The traffic thullas do nothing but have gatherings on corners and intersections issuing challans. No interest in traffic management st all.

  • A very good decision as majority of private and commercial vehicles not only within city but on motorway use these illegal lights in a threatening way to make other vehicles quickly get out of their way and they also drive such vehicles at an illegal speed limits.
Hope such lights and pressure horns will be confiscated by the authorities.

  • Ye Karachi mein kab hoga?
Aaj Kal advertisment screens bhi buhat tez lag rahi Hain, andha kerde driver ko, us per bhi qanoon sazi honi chahiye.

  • That is appreciable act by the traffic police, it should be implemented in other provinces also. In Karachi also mostly people are using such light causing temporally blindness which can cause accidents. In fact, firstly, such products should be banned for selling so no one use it. Secondly, those who already installed should be give a timeline to voluntarily remove, else, in last phase they should get tickets for traffic violations and risking other lives.

  • Hi there,
My name waqar and I would like put a very humble request in front of our honorable officials and honorable government. Please take a very strict action against high white & flash lights in Lahore as well. It is very dangerous to look at front when a motorbike or any vehicle comes with their white and flash lights on the road. These lights make blind to the opposite coming traffic. I would love to highly appreciate to the honorable government that is doing great work and bringing ease for every citizen of pakistan.
I’ll be hightly thankful for your favour.

  • Instead of giving out such ambiguous statements, authorities should talk about specifications of the LED lights that are legal. All new cars have them. You cannot just throw out such statements for the sake of making a point. This is serious.

  • This is very unfortunate. No one is checking traffic violations. One way violations, horns and wrong overtaking is on increase..The road leading from Bhubtian to Lahore university max will go wrong way and the traffic police is blind.

  • Sir please please start this one. Give him big fine and also cancel the driving license who is violating the rule. Good job

  • All having such led lights must be heavy fine and if not changed again put heavy fine on motor cycles, cars, all types of vehicles on all roads and on motorway.

  • After evening driving in Sukkur City is extremely risky due to the LED and Flasher lights. #traffic police Sukkur
