Fake Govt Job Scams Stole Millions From Thousands of Victims

The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency has uncovered a large-scale fake jobs scam involving fraudulent advertisements circulated on social media using the name of a government institution.

Authorities said thousands of job seekers were misled through fake recruitment campaigns that were created to collect money from applicants. Investigators revealed that the suspects received millions of rupees from 10,763 individuals.

According to officials, the accused operated a fake testing agency and promised government jobs in exchange for application and testing fees. The network used fabricated recruitment procedures to exploit young people searching for employment.

During a raid in the Thanda Pani area of Islamabad, the main suspect, Saifullah, was arrested. Officials said he was running the fake testing agency with accomplices and managing operations through a counterfeit website and coordinated social media campaigns.

Investigators stated that fake job advertisements were issued under the name of the National Planning and Development Authority to attract applicants and collect fees.

A formal case has been registered, and further raids are underway to arrest other suspects involved in the scam.
