Punjab has decided to standardize infrastructure and urban design across the province under the approved “One Punjab, One Standard” policy to ensure uniform development and promote discipline throughout Punjab.
The decision was taken during a special meeting chaired by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. During the meeting, officials informed that every highway, sidewalk, and signboard in Punjab will be developed according to a single, attractive, and high-quality design.
Roads, green belts, and sidewalks will be built under a unified framework that meets international standards.
The chief minister directed authorities to standardize the design and facilities of all schools, hospitals, bus stops, and other public buildings across the province. The goal is for Punjab to emerge with a cohesive and modern identity.
The meeting also discussed a proposal to establish an autonomous authority for infrastructure standardization and urban design. In addition, officials reviewed a proposal to introduce uniform designs for roadside kiosks and small shop cabins.
CM Maryam Nawaz ordered the preparation of a standardized design manual. She said Punjab will now be recognized by a single color scheme and a unified standard. She added that every street will be well-organized, every highway visually appealing, and every institution a model of order and discipline.
Officials at the meeting gave a detailed briefing on various aspects of infrastructure standardization.
