The Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training has issued a high-priority directive making cybersecurity training compulsory for all private school staff in the federal capital, Islamabad.
Following the Prime Minister’s recent orders on strengthening institutional cyberspace, the Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority (ICT-PEIRA) has partnered with the Cisco Networking Academy to launch this massive capacity-building drive.
The new mandate applies to every teaching and non-teaching staff member who utilizes computers, official email systems, or mobile devices for their daily institutional tasks.
With the rapid integration of Modern AI and digital platforms into office work, the government warns that the risks of hacking and data breaches have reached a critical level.
Consequently, all relevant personnel are now legally required to enroll in and complete specialized online courses in Cybersecurity and Digital Safety.
The Ministry has set a strict deadline of March 8, 2026, for the completion of these certifications, warning that school managements must treat this implementation as a top priority to ensure institutional resilience against evolving cyber threats.
