Islamabad Capital Territory Police arrested four alleged drug peddlers during a targeted operation near educational institutions in the jurisdiction of Shalimar Police Station. They recovered a significant quantity of crystal meth, commonly known as “ice”.
An official told Associated Press of Pakistan on Friday that police carried out the operation as part of a focused crackdown on narcotics trafficking around academic institutions to protect students from drug abuse.
Police teams acted on credible intelligence and apprehended the suspects near educational institutions during the raid. Authorities recovered a large quantity of crystal meth from their possession.
The arrested suspects were identified as Waqar Ahmed, Muhammad Asghar, Rehman Hassan, and Khurram Shahzad.
Police registered cases against the accused and launched further investigations to trace their supply chain and possible links with other drug networks.
Officials said ICT Police remain committed to eliminating drug trafficking and ensuring a safe, drug-free environment around educational institutions in Islamabad.
