The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has announced a major operation against alleged illegal constructions in Sangjani, issuing demolition notices to residents of Dhoke Kassar in Islamabad. The development has created concern among local residents after the authority directed them to vacate their houses within 15 days.
According to the notice, the CDA stated that the Built-Up Property (BUP) award for the acquired land of Mauza Dhoke Kassar Sangjani was approved on February 27, 2026. The authority declared the land as its acquired property and instructed residents to remove their constructions and end what it described as illegal occupation.
Residents have been directed to demolish their structures voluntarily within the given deadline. Officials warned that if the instructions are not followed within 15 days, the authority will carry out a forced operation to remove the constructions from the land.
The notice also warned of legal action against violators under the provisions of the HDA Ordinance 1960, including sections 46, 46-A and 465. Under these sections, offenders may face penalties including imprisonment of up to one year with hard labor, fines, or both, along with possible contempt proceedings.
Local residents said the notice has created anxiety in the community, as many families claim they have been living in the area for several years. People in the locality fear that the planned operation could result in the demolition of several houses and displacement of families.
