Punjab Govt Closes All Schools, Colleges, and Universities Across Province

The Punjab government has announced the closure of all schools, colleges, and universities across the province, citing extraordinary economic pressures linked to the latest regional conflicts and the wider fuel situation.

According to the announcement, all educational institutions in Punjab will remain closed from March 10 to March 31. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said that while campuses will be shut during this period, scheduled examinations will continue. She added that colleges and universities have been directed to shift teaching to online classes during the closure, while schools will remain closed until the end of the month.

Alongside the education shutdown, Punjab also rolled out cost-cutting measures aimed at reducing government fuel use. The chief minister ordered the immediate suspension of government fuel distribution for provincial ministers until the petroleum crisis eases.

The provincial government has also introduced a 50% reduction in petrol and diesel allowances for officials’ vehicle use. In addition, it has imposed a ban on the use of protocol vehicle convoys that typically accompany ministers and senior officials.

Under the revised protocol, the government said only one escort vehicle will be allowed for ministers and high-ranking officials, strictly for essential security needs.

  • Good decision!
If people cannot eat and put all the money in fuel and electricity expenses how will they survive?
Live today study tomorrow. There should be no age limit for education in Pakistan too as in USA and Europe.
