Pakistani school students interested in biology and biotechnology have an opportunity to participate in the Open International Biology Olympiad (OIBO) 2026, an international competition designed to encourage young scientists to explore modern biological challenges and strengthen global scientific cooperation.
The Olympiad will take place from May 15 to May 22, 2026, in the Sirius Federal Territory, with activities hosted at the Sirius Educational Center, a leading institution known for specialized training and education programs for talented students.

Each country may send only one team, while the host nation is allowed two national delegations.
The working languages of the Olympiad are Russian and English. Competition materials will be provided in these languages and may also be translated into a delegation’s national language if available.
To maintain fairness, participants must submit their personal electronic communication devices to their team leaders one day before the first round, and devices will remain unavailable until the completion of the third round.
The host organizers will provide accommodation and meals for participants and team leaders during the event. However, the sending country or institution must cover travel costs.
Observers who attend the Olympiad must pay a separate organizational fee of 70,000 Russian rubles.
Beyond the competition, participants will also take part in a cultural and educational program, including lectures, workshops, and excursions organized by the Sirius Educational Center.
The recommended arrival date is May 14, 2026, while the recommended departure date is May 22, 2026.
