Oppo, vivo, and iQOO Confirm Price Hikes For Smartphones

Oppo and OnePlus have begun raising smartphone prices in China, with Vivo and iQOO set to follow. In a joint statement, vivo and iQOO confirmed that new pricing will take effect tomorrow, on March 18.

The companies did not specify which devices would be affected, stating only that “specific models” will see price adjustments. While the announcement applies to the Chinese market, global pricing may also be impacted.

The brands attributed the move to rising costs of memory and semiconductor components. Analysts have previously warned that increasing demand, particularly from AI-related infrastructure, would put pressure on component pricing.

Additional supply risks, including concerns around helium availability, could further affect chip production.

These factors suggest that pricing pressure across the smartphone market may continue in the near term.
