Samsung Might Kill Off Its First Tri-Fold Phone 3 Months After Release

Samsung’s first tri-folding smartphone, the Galaxy Z TriFold, may be discontinued just a few months after its launch, according to a report from South Korea. The report states that Samsung is expected to end domestic sales today, on March 17, marking a short lifecycle for the device.

The Galaxy Z TriFold has been produced in very small quantities, leading to frequent sellouts. Only a limited number of units were available from the start, and these reportedly sold out quickly whenever new stock appeared.

While sales in Korea may end soon, the report indicates that the device will continue to be sold in the US market. However, availability will last only until the current production stock is exhausted, suggesting that supplies may run out quickly.

The short sales window and limited production have led to questions about the device’s positioning.

The report suggests the Galaxy Z TriFold may have been released in limited numbers, similar to a prototype-level production run, rather than a large-scale commercial product.

It remains unclear whether Samsung will continue developing this form factor. There is a possibility that a future version could be introduced, though no official details have been confirmed.
