The Balochistan government has allocated Rs. 857.53 million for public sector universities across the province to cover March 2026 salaries and pension payments, according to a notification issued by the provincial finance department.
The funds have been distributed among multiple institutions, with the University of Balochistan receiving the largest share.
Under the breakdown provided in the notification, Rs. 289.32 million has been released for the University of Balochistan, while BUITEMS has been allocated Rs. 187.92 million. The Balochistan University of Engineering and Technology, Khuzdar has been given Rs. 60.71 million.
Other allocations include Rs. 99.67 million for Sardar Bahadur Khan Women’s University, Quetta, and Rs. 92.41 million for Lasbela University of Agriculture, Water and Marine Sciences. The University of Turbat has received Rs. 45.58 million, and the University of Loralai has been allocated Rs. 27.41 million.
Smaller releases include Rs. 14.61 million for Mir Chakar Khan Rind University, Sibi, Rs. 14.27 million for the University of Gwadar, Rs. 11.05 million for Bolan University of Medical and Health Sciences, Quetta, and Rs. 10.6 million for the University of Makran, Panjgur.
An additional Rs. 4.5 million has been issued for the Kharan campus of the University of Balochistan.
