BenQ has introduced the RD280UG, a new monitor aimed at improving readability and reducing eye strain for developers during extended coding sessions. The display combines a taller aspect ratio with features designed to support long hours of work.
The BenQ RD280UG features a 28-inch display with a 4K+ resolution and a 3:2 aspect ratio. This format allows more vertical content to be displayed, which can help when working with long lines of code.
The monitor supports a 120Hz refresh rate, enabling smoother scrolling across documents and development environments. It also uses a Nano Matte panel to reduce glare and reflections, maintaining screen clarity under different lighting conditions.
The display includes dedicated coding modes that adjust contrast and visual balance based on whether a user prefers dark or light themes.
Additional features include Paper Colour Mode, which provides a softer viewing experience, and MoonHalo bias lighting, which creates ambient illumination around the screen. Night Hours Protection is designed to reduce eye strain during late-night use.
The monitor also offers flexible ergonomics, including height adjustment, screen rotation, and auto pivot to support different working positions.
The RD280UG is compatible with macOS, Windows, and Linux systems. It also includes a dedicated coding hotkey that allows users to quickly adjust display settings without interrupting their workflow.
BenQ has priced the RD280UG at $700
