Edifier has introduced the Hecate G3 Max, a wireless over-ear gaming headset priced at $43. The headset focuses on audio quality, comfort, and multi-device connectivity, and is available in black, white, green, and pink color options.
Design and Audio Features
The Hecate G3 Max supports THX Spatial Audio, delivering 360-degree sound with improved directional accuracy. It is Hi-Res Audio certified and offers a frequency response range of 20Hz to 40kHz.
The headset is equipped with a 53mm driver and a PEN diaphragm, designed to provide low distortion, fast response, and clear sound separation.
Edifier said it worked with professional esports teams to tune the audio, focusing on improving clarity of footsteps, balancing gunfire sounds, and enhancing positional accuracy in first-person shooter games.
Comfort and Build
The headset features a 3D pivot ergonomic design that allows multi-angle adjustments. It weighs 280 grams and uses hydrolysis-resistant leather along with high-elastic foam for improved comfort.
The ear cushions and headband are designed to distribute pressure evenly, making the headset suitable for extended use, including for users who wear glasses.
Microphone and Connectivity
The G3 Max includes a detachable noise-canceling microphone that uses AI algorithms to reduce background noise. It offers a signal-to-noise ratio of 65dB for voice clarity.
Connectivity options include 2.4GHz wireless, Bluetooth 6.0, and wired USB. The headset uses Flash Speed wireless technology for low-latency and stable connections.
It is compatible with PCs, laptops, smartphones, tablets, and gaming consoles such as the PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch.
Battery Life
The headset is powered by a 2,000 mAh battery, offering up to 227 hours of playback in Bluetooth mode and up to 137 hours in 2.4GHz mode. It also supports charging while in use.
Additional features include customizable RGB lighting and a companion app for adjusting audio and lighting settings.
