The Government of Sindh has declared April 4, 2026, as a public holiday across the province to mark the 47th martyrdom anniversary of former prime minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.
According to a notification issued by the Services, General Administration and Coordination Department, all government offices, autonomous and semi-autonomous bodies, corporations, and local councils under the administrative control of the provincial government will remain closed on the day.
The notification states that the holiday will be observed throughout Sindh, with the exception of essential services, which will continue to operate as per routine requirements.
The provincial administration issued the notification on March 30, 2026, from Karachi, confirming the holiday in observance of the anniversary of the former prime minister.
Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, who served as prime minister of Pakistan, was executed on April 4, 1979, and his death anniversary is observed annually, particularly in Sindh.
