Sazgar Engineering Works Limited (PSX: SAZEW) has announced a major leadership transition alongside a significant expansion push with a fresh Rs. 22 billion investment plan to scale up its four-wheeler manufacturing operations.
Once completed, the expansion is expected to raise the total installed production and assembly capacity of the four-wheeler plant to 54,000 units per annum on a single shift basis.
The company appointed Saira Asad Hameed as Chairperson and Mian Asad Hameed as Chief Executive for a three-year term effective March 28, 2026.
The appointments come at a time when Sazgar is accelerating its growth strategy, particularly in the fast-expanding four-wheeler and hybrid vehicle segment.
The key development announced by the board is the approval of a brand new, fully automatic paint shop and associated ancillary facilities for four-wheeler vehicles, carrying an estimated budget of Rs. 22.00 billion, excluding the cost of land.
This new phase follows the completion of Sazgar’s earlier Rs. 11.50 billion expansion plan, which included civil works, a 5.7 megawatt solar power system, and new warehousing facilities.
The company has also indicated that the first rollout of the CKD model of the “TANK 500 Hi4 T 4X4 2.0L Turbo AT PHEV and HEV” is expected by the end of March 2026.
In addition to the top-level appointments, the board named Saeed Iqbal Khan as Chief Operating Officer for the three-wheeler and automotive parts division, while Mian Muhammad Ali Hameed has been appointed Chief Operating Officer for the car division, both for three-year terms.
The company has also approved Rs. 4 billion for the purchase of approximately 900 kanals of land near its car plant for future expansion.
Separately, it also plans to acquire a commercial plot on Pine Avenue, Lahore, worth around Rs. 1.10 billion for a company-owned showroom, after-sales service facilities, and offices.
