Engro Fertilizers Limited (PSX: EFERT) has raised its urea price by Rs. 150 per bag, taking the new rate to Rs. 4,435 per bag with effect from April 4, 2026, according to Arif Habib Limited.has raised its urea price by Rs. 150 per bag, taking the new rate to Rs. 4,435 per bag with effect from April 4, 2026, according to Arif Habib Limited.
The latest increase comes after the company had already scaled back its earlier discount from Rs. 400 per bag to Rs. 150 per bag. With the new revision, the remaining discount has now been fully withdrawn, effectively pushing retail prices higher ahead of the upcoming application cycle.
Other major players, including Fauji Fertilizer Company, are also likely to follow with similar price revisions in the coming week as the hike is closely related to rising input costs.
This comes against the backdrop of weaker industry offtake as Pakistan’s total urea sales for the first two months of 2026 stood at 468,000 tons, down 41 percent year on year, despite a partial recovery in February and touching an all time high in December 2025.
The latest withdrawal of discounts, therefore marks a shift from demand support measures toward margin protection, especially as inventory pressures have eased from the heavy advance buying seen in December 2025.
International urea prices, on the other hand have also moved sharply higher with Middle East granular urea prices climbing to $750 per ton by the end of March, compared with nearly $580 per ton at the start of the month, reflecting a rise of over 29 percent amid heightened regional tensions
