FBR Revises Customs Values on Import of LED Bulbs, Tube Lights from China

The Directorate General of Customs Valuation in Karachi has issued new customs values for the import of LED bulbs, LED tube lights, and their parts from China, which will be used for assessing duties and taxes at the import stage.

Two separate valuation rulings were issued on Wednesday following representations from importers seeking customs values aligned with prevailing international price trends.

A preliminary analysis of import data, declared and assessed values, and market prices was conducted in accordance with Section 25A of the Customs Act, 1969. A dedicated meeting for the determination of customs values was held, where relevant stakeholders presented their viewpoints and submitted documentary evidence to support their claims.

For the evaluation, ninety days of import data were retrieved and thoroughly scrutinized. Market inquiries were conducted as mandated under sub-section (7) of Section 25 of the Customs Act, 1969, and examined in line with the Directorate’s Office Order.

Ultimately, the customs values of the subject goods were determined under Section 25(7) of the Customs Act, 1969. Ruling number 2025 of 2026 formalizes these new valuations, ensuring that import assessments reflect accurate market trends.
