Chawla Green Motors has introduced a new, lower-priced variant to the Dongfeng Box electric vehicle lineup in Pakistan, expanding its offerings in the entry-level EV segment.
The newly launched Dongfeng Box Smart 330 is positioned as the most affordable option in the lineup, priced at Rs. 5,500,000. It offers a claimed driving range of 330 kilometers on a single charge, making it Rs. 9 lacs cheaper than the previous base variant, which delivered a 430 km range and was priced at Rs. 6,400,000.
With the addition of this variant, the Dongfeng Box lineup in Pakistan now includes three options:
The launch comes amid growing competition in Pakistan’s small EV segment. Recently, Capital Smart Motors introduced the JMEV EV3 electric hatchback in two variants.
The EV3 Comfort is priced at Rs. 4,899,999, while the EV3 Premium is available at Rs. 4,999,999. Both variants feature a 30 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, offering a claimed WLTP range of 271 kilometers, along with features such as a 10.1-inch infotainment system, dual airbags, vehicle stability assist, hill start assist, tyre pressure monitoring system, and a 360-degree camera.
The introduction of more affordable EV options reflects increasing activity in Pakistan’s electric vehicle market, as automakers compete to attract price-sensitive buyers.
