Fresh questions have emerged over the proposed allotment of new Capital Development Authority plots worth around Rs. 3 billion in different sectors of Islamabad, with sources alleging that officials moved swiftly to push the process ahead before the new management fully takes charge.
According to sources, officials in the CDA’s Directorate of Land and Rehabilitation have been actively working on a balloting process planned for next week, with long meetings involving property dealers and late-night office activity reportedly becoming routine in recent days.
The proposed move is said to involve the allotment of around 300 plots in sectors D-13, E-13, and F-13, allegedly under the cover of recent administrative changes in the offices of the CDA chairman and member estate.
Sources further claimed that the Directorate began moving these allotments in haste amid concerns that officers currently posted in the department may soon be replaced by the incoming management.
Allegations have also been made that Deputy Director Chaudhry Nazir held meetings with five influential property dealers in Islamabad and prepared land sharing files for allotment in the relevant sectors, with claims of financial dealings worth millions of rupees.
The issue has drawn public concern, particularly in light of allegations that 334 plots had previously been allotted in the same sectors, with claims that earlier allotments protected certain investments and enabled personal gains.
Citizens have urged CDA Chairman Suhail Ashraf and the Member Estate to immediately halt any further allotment and order a physical audit of all relevant files before any new decision is taken.
