A huge geopolitical shift appears to be underway in the Middle East, with Pakistan emerging as a critical lever of the region’s latest diplomatic initiative aimed at mediating peace between the US and Iran.
Key regional countries including Qatar, Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Pakistan are completely bypassing Washington and have intensified diplomatic contacts following dangerous attacks by the US-Israel nexus against Iran.
The crisis has forced regional powers to pursue a “regional solution to a regional crisis.”
Pakistan now a Big Player
The first major diplomatic engagement took place in Riyadh on March 19, where representatives from Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, Pakistan, and Egypt held discussions focused on de-escalation.
Since that meeting, multiple parallel diplomatic contacts have been underway to reduce tensions and prevent further military escalation.
Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani recently held direct talks with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi for an immediate ceasefire and renewed diplomatic engagement.
While Doha clarified it is not formally mediating negotiations, diplomacy remains the only viable path to resolving the crisis.
Simultaneously, Türkiye’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan also conducted discussions with Iranian leadership.

X posters view the ongoing talks as evidence of a far bigger strategic recalibration across the Middle East, where regional actors like Pakistan, Qatar and Egypt are increasingly attempting to manage security crises themselves.
Pakistan’s participation reflects its continuing efforts to position itself as a constructive diplomatic partner in Muslim world affairs and regional stability initiatives.
Regardless of whether these regional efforts succeed in easing tensions, Pakistan has positioned itself as a pivot for arranging multilateral diplomacy during one of the region’s most sensitive geopolitical moments to daate.

Who told you that ? Pakistan can’t even provide basic facilities to people.
