The price of LPG in Lahore, Multan and other big cities has crossed Rs. 500 per kilogram.
According to shopkeepers, LPG is being sold in different parts of the country at Rs. 500 to Rs. 510 per kg, while retailers are receiving supply at Rs. 480 to Rs. 490 per kg.
The official notified rate is around Rs. 304 per kg, so shopkeepers are selling it for almost Rs. 200/kg higher prices.
Shopkeepers said LPG marketing companies are supplying the fuel at significantly higher rates.
Meanwhile, some citizens have alleged that the LPG mafia has earned billions of rupees through the price hike and have called on the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority to take immediate action.
They also demanded strict measures against oil marketing companies to bring prices under control.
