Trump Says Lebanon ‘Not Part of Deal’ As Iran Warns Ceasefire Could Collapse

Fresh tensions have emerged around today’s Pakistan-mediated ceasefire after US President Donald Trump told reporters that the ongoing military strikes in Lebanon were not included in the current de-escalation arrangement, even as Iran warned that future negotiations could collapse without a Lebanon ceasefire.

Speaking shortly after a Pentagon briefing, President Trump was questioned about reports that Lebanon continued to face attacks despite the ceasefire linked to regional tensions involving Iran.

Trump acknowledged that Lebanon was excluded from the agreement because of Hezbollah and described the fighting there as a “separate skirmish.”

When asked whether continued Israeli strikes were acceptable under the arrangement, Trump replied that the situation was “part of the deal” and would be addressed separately.

The conversation ended abruptly after questions regarding criticism of his old Truth Social posts.

Meanwhile, the Wall Street Journal reported that Iran has warned it could reconsider reversing the ceasefire if attacks on Lebanon or Iran continue.

Diplomatic sources stationed at Islamabad told ProPakistani that the disagreement over Lebanon’s status has become a major obstacle to sustaining the ceasefire.

Everything points towards doom unless there’s another trick yet to be played.
