Electric Buses Introduced in Another Major Punjab City

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced a modern, environment-friendly public transport system for Multan, with the first fleet of buses now dispatched to the city.

The initiative aims to provide residents with a more comfortable and reliable commuting option while promoting cleaner and sustainable transport.

Officials said the first fleet consists of 10 buses, marking the start of the rollout. In the next phase, more than 50 additional buses will be sent to expand the service and improve coverage across the city.

The project forms part of the provincial government’s broader plan to upgrade urban transport infrastructure and address growing mobility challenges.

Once fully operational, the system is expected to offer a more organized alternative to existing transport options and help reduce environmental impact.

The chief minister described the development as a step toward improving public facilities and introducing modern transport solutions in Multan.
