The School Education Department has made the installation of a public safety mobile application mandatory in both public and private schools across Punjab, issuing strict instructions for immediate compliance.
According to the department, all schools falling under A, A-plus and B categories are required to install the app, while teachers and school heads have been directed to complete their registration within the stipulated deadline.
The move follows reports that several institutions have yet to install the application, prompting concern within the department. District Education Officers (DEOs) have been instructed to ensure immediate implementation and monitor compliance in their respective areas.
The department has warned that strict action may be taken against schools and individuals found violating the orders. School heads have also been directed to communicate the instructions to all teaching staff to ensure timely implementation.
The Monitoring and Evaluation Wing has been tasked with overseeing the installation and registration process and compiling progress reports. Officials said no delay in compliance will be tolerated, adding that the initiative aims to strengthen security and monitoring mechanisms in educational institutions.
