Uganda’s Pro-Israel Army Chief Demands $1 Billion and a Wife From Turkey

Uganda’s top military commander Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba has demanded $1 billion and reportedly a wife in exchange for his country’s long-running operations in Somalia, international media reported earlier today.

The individual has previously declared support for Israel’s military operations across Arab nations. His latest claims for demanding a Turkish wife have been reported on X and a few Africa-linked newspapers so far.

He accused Turkey of gaining strategic economic advantages from its expanding footprint in Somalia, particularly through infrastructure and strategic contracts he says were only made possible due to years of Ugandan military deployment under African Union-backed missions.

Kainerugaba argued that Ugandan troops deserve what he described as a “security dividend” for their sacrifices and operational costs.

The army chief said that Turkish companies and state-linked projects have secured key roles in Somalia’s ports, airports, and infrastructure development with his help.

He also warned that Kampala could consider shutting down Turkey’s embassy if the demand is ignored.

So far, neither Turkish nor Somali officials have issued a public response to these demands.

Kainerugaba earlier posted on X that he is ready to deploy 100,000 Ugandan soldiers to fight beside Israel.
