England established batter James Vince is set to join Peshawar Zalmi for the remainder of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 11) on Monday, franchise owner Javed Afridi announced.
Afridi shared the update on his official X account, stating, “Big welcome to James Vince as he joins the Zalmi squad tomorrow!”
Vince was selected by the 2017 champions during the PSL players auction in February for Rs. 30 million. However, the 35-year-old missed Zalmi’s first five matches, which raised questions about his availability for the ongoing eight-team tournament.
His arrival is expected to provide a significant boost to Zalmi, who currently lead the PSL 11 standings with nine points from five matches. The team is scheduled to face second-placed Multan Sultans at the National Bank Stadium on Monday.
Vince has been one of the most consistent overseas players in the PSL. Over eight editions, he has represented three franchises, Karachi Kings, Quetta Gladiators, and Multan Sultans.
He ranks among the top 10 leading run-scorers in PSL history, with 1,544 runs in 56 innings at an average of 29.69 and a strike rate of 139.35. His record includes one century and seven half-centuries.
