Govt Announces Plots for Families of Martyred FIA Officials

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Monday announced the allocation of residential plots for the families of 25 martyred personnel of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), while pledging strict accountability and major institutional reforms.

Speaking at a ceremony in Islamabad, the minister warned that there would be zero tolerance for corruption within the agency.

He said any officer found involved in corrupt practices would face strict action, emphasizing that accountability would be enforced without exception.

Naqvi assured officers that merit and performance would be prioritized, adding that dedicated officials would receive timely promotions instead of remaining stuck in the same positions for years.

He also pledged to protect the rights of FIA personnel and urged them to uphold integrity in their duties.

The minister revealed that reforms were underway to modernize the agency, with a target to fully upgrade it by December 31, 2026.

Highlighting the government’s commitment, Naqvi said the prime minister aims to strengthen the FIA’s role in combating crime, adding that facilities across FIA offices have already been improved.

Director General FIA Usman Anwar also addressed the ceremony, reaffirming efforts to enhance the organization and ensure merit-based decisions in all appointments.
