Redmi’s New Flagship Killer is Coming with a Built-In Fan Next Week

Xiaomi has confirmed that the Redmi K90 Max will debut in China on April 21, following recent teasers.

The device will sit between the Redmi K90 and K90 Pro Max, which are already available in the market.

Display and Gaming Performance

The Redmi K90 Max will feature a 6.83-inch display with a 165Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of up to 3500 nits.

The phone is designed to support high frame rate gaming, with more than 40 games capable of running at up to 165fps. It will also include optimizations for darker in-game scenes.

Built-In Cooling System

The K90 Max will be the first Redmi phone to include an integrated fan-based cooling system.

The setup uses a vertical air intake fan measuring 18.1mm and delivers airflow of up to 0.42CFM. It is designed to lower temperatures quickly and maintain performance during extended gaming sessions.

The cooling system operates on a suspended structure that does not interfere with the motherboard layout. This design allows the phone to maintain IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance while accommodating a large battery.

The fan also features a metal bearing structure and has undergone durability testing for extended use.

Performance and Battery

The device will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor, built on a 3nm process.

It will also include an independent graphics chip to improve gaming performance.

The Redmi K90 Max is expected to feature a large battery, estimated between 8000mAh and 8500mAh, with support for 100W wired charging.

Additional Features

Other expected features include an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, symmetrical dual speakers with custom tuning, and a metal frame design.

Other Launches at the Event

Alongside the Redmi K90 Max, Xiaomi will also introduce additional products at the April 21 event.

These include the Redmi K Pad 2 powered by the Dimensity 9500 chip, the Redmi Pad 2 SE with mid-range specifications, and the 14-inch and 16-inch Redmi Book Pro 2026 models.
