Pakistan will begin preparations for their upcoming Test series against Bangladesh with a training camp in Karachi, where players are scheduled to assemble from 29 April.
The camp marks the start of Pakistan’s build-up to the two-match red-ball series, which is part of the ongoing ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025–27 cycle. The national side is set to depart for Bangladesh on the night of 3 May.
The series is provisionally scheduled to begin on 8 May, with the second Test set for 16 May. However, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is yet to confirm the venues.
As preparations intensify, national selectors are in the final stages of deciding the squad. Former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed is also part of the discussions, with sources indicating he is likely to take on head coach responsibilities for the Bangladesh series.
Meanwhile, wicketkeeper Rohail Nazir is being considered for inclusion, as changes are expected in both the Test squad and team management.
Pakistan head into the series without recent red-ball match practice, having last played a Test series against South Africa in October last year, which ended in a 1–1 draw.
Alongside the upcoming camp, a separate red-ball training programme is already under way, with 18 players currently involved. This camp will continue until 20 April as part of broader preparations for future Test commitments.
Looking ahead, Pakistan’s schedule remains busy. According to the Pakistan Men’s Future Tour Programme (2023–27), Shan Masood’s side is set to tour England for a three-Test series from 19 August to 13 September.
Before that, Pakistan are likely to tour the West Indies for a two-Test series in July and August. Sri Lanka are also scheduled to tour Pakistan for two Tests in November, while New Zealand are set to visit in March 2027 for another two-match Test series.
