Punjab Traffic DIG has issued a directive to district officers across the province to prevent road accidents and enforce traffic laws more strictly.
In the directive, the DIG Traffic ordered that licenses of drivers involved in fatal accidents be revoked, and cases be registered against unlicensed drivers involved in accidents.
The DIG Traffic further directed officers to deploy additional personnel in areas with repeated accidents to improve enforcement and reduce risks.
He also instructed that vehicles violating one-way rules be impounded and fined, while strict action be taken against motorcyclists not wearing helmets and drivers not using seat belts.
The DIG Traffic ordered officers to take action against drivers using mobile phones during travel and to ensure compliance with lane discipline to maintain smooth traffic flow.
