Pakistan Embassy in UAE Suspends Passport Processing Service

The Pakistan Embassy in Abu Dhabi has temporarily suspended passport processing services due to technical and maintenance issues, affecting members of the Pakistani community in the United Arab Emirates.

In an official notice, the embassy said passport-related services are currently unavailable and will remain suspended until further notice. It added that the community will be informed immediately once the service resumes.

The development is likely to create inconvenience for Pakistani nationals who were planning to renew or apply for passports through the embassy in the coming days. Many overseas Pakistanis rely on embassy-based passport services for urgent travel, residency, and employment-related documentation.

The embassy has advised applicants to use the online passport application facility where possible instead of visiting for in-person processing. Those who do not use the online option have been asked to wait for fresh instructions from the mission.

No timeline has been given for the restoration of normal passport services.

The suspension comes at a time when a large number of Pakistanis living in the UAE depend on timely documentation services for visa renewals, job transfers, and other official requirements. Any prolonged delay in passport processing could create difficulties for applicants with urgent paperwork needs.

For now, the embassy has urged the Pakistani community to stay alert for further announcements regarding the resumption of services.
