Lahore Traffic Police Take Action Against Over 17,000 Vehicles

The Lahore Traffic Police have intensified a large-scale crackdown against traffic violations across the city, urging citizens to strictly follow road safety rules.

According to official figures, action was taken against 17,348 vehicles during the past week. Police impounded 7,188 motorcycles for dangerous driving, while 4,132 drivers were penalized for lane discipline violations.

Fines were issued to 78 motorcyclists for disrupting traffic flow and to 87 underage drivers. Authorities also took action against 1,224 motorcyclists for one-way violations and fined 213 individuals for ignoring traffic signals.

Additionally, 4,910 motorcyclists were ticketed for riding without helmets. Officials said Safe City cameras and live monitoring systems are being used on model roads to ensure continuous surveillance and timely detection of violations.

Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi directed divisional SPs and circle officers to personally oversee the crackdown and urged citizens to comply with traffic laws to improve safety and traffic flow.
