Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah went viral on social media after a video showed him leaping over obstacles during an inspection of development work in Karachi, with many online users joking about his “parkour” abilities.
The clip quickly gained traction for capturing an unusual moment during an otherwise routine field visit. Shah was seen jumping across obstructions at the site, surprising people around him and triggering a flood of reactions, memes and humorous commentary online.
The viral moment came during the chief minister’s early morning tour of multiple infrastructure projects in Karachi, where he reviewed progress and pushed officials to speed up work.
According to an official statement, Sindh CM directed authorities to maintain both pace and quality, warning that delays and poor construction standards would not be tolerated. He said the government’s priority was to restore smooth traffic flow and provide safe and reliable infrastructure for Karachi residents.
During the visit, Shah said Shahrah-e-Bhutto would be opened to traffic before Eid and described it as a gift for the people of Karachi. He also ordered that all mixed-traffic lanes along the Red Line corridor be completed within two months.
Officials briefed him on work being carried out on repair, patchwork and rehabilitation of mixed-traffic lanes, as well as widening efforts through adjustments to New Jersey barriers.
CM Sindh also expressed concern over recurring waterlogging and called for a permanent solution, directing teams to work in multiple shifts to speed up completion and reduce disruption to the public.
On the Shahrah-e-Bhutto project, officials said around 93 percent of the 38-kilometre corridor from Jam Sadiq Interchange to the M-9 Kathore Interchange had already been completed, with the remaining work expected to finish within weeks.
The chief minister also directed the immediate resumption of work on the Mosamiyat Flyover, calling it important for easing traffic on University Road. He further reviewed progress on the Munawar Chowrangi Underpass and ordered officials to expedite work.
