How to Apply for Wazir-e-Azam Apna Ghar Program [Step-by-Step Application Guide]

The Wazir-e-Azam Apna Ghar Program ‘Ghar Ho Tu Apna’ allows eligible citizens to apply for affordable housing finance through an online portal.

Under the scheme, applicants can get financing of up to Rs. 10 million for buying or constructing a house.

The loan can be used to purchase a house or flat, buy a plot and construct a house, or build a house on an already owned plot.

The maximum financing tenure is 20 years, while the markup for the first 10 years is fixed at 5%.

Who Can Apply?

Applicants must be Pakistani citizens with a valid CNIC.

They must also be first-time homeowners. This means the applicant should not already own a housing unit in their name.

Applicants should also make sure they have not already taken a loan or benefit under another housing scheme.

The scheme is open to different income categories, including salaried persons, business owners, freelancers, and people with informal income sources.

Financing Limit and Tenure

Applicants can apply for financing of up to Rs. 10 million.

The available financing slabs include Rs. 2.5 million, Rs. 5 million, Rs. 7.5 million, and Rs. 10 million.

The maximum loan tenure is 20 years.

For the first 10 years, the markup rate will remain fixed at 5%. After that, the normal banking rate applicable at that time will apply for the remaining tenure.

Loan-to-Value Ratio

The minimum equity contribution is 10%.

This means the applicant must arrange at least 10% of the total amount, while the remaining 90% can be financed.

For example, if an applicant applies for Rs. 5 million, they must arrange Rs. 500,000 themselves. The remaining Rs. 4.5 million can be covered through financing.

Applicants can also contribute more than 10% if they want to reduce the loan amount.

No Processing Fee or Early Payment Charges

The scheme does not carry any processing charges.

Applicants also do not have to pay any early payment or prepayment penalty.

Therefore, applicants should not pay any money to anyone before loan approval if they are asked for processing or advance charges.
