Samsung Display has introduced several new display technologies during Display Week 2026, including a Sensor OLED panel that can not only hide your screen content but also measure your heart rate and blood pressure.
Samsung Display presented an updated 6.8-inch Sensor OLED Display that combines health monitoring and privacy features in a single panel.
The display includes embedded organic photodiodes positioned alongside standard OLED pixels. These sensors can measure heart rate and blood pressure by detecting light reflected from a user’s finger.
The panel also features Flex Magic Pixel technology, which powers Samsung’s Privacy Display functionality.
Samsung increased the display’s pixel density to 500ppi, compared to the 374ppi panel demonstrated last year.
The company also showcased its new Flex Chroma Pixel display, which focuses on improving brightness and color accuracy.
The panel can achieve up to 3,000 nits of brightness in High Brightness Mode using Samsung Display’s LEAD technology. LEAD is Samsung’s proprietary OLED technology that removes the need for a polarizer, helping lower power consumption.
The display supports 96% of the BT.2020 color gamut and uses Phosphorescent Sensitized Fluorescence emissive material to improve color purity and accuracy.
Samsung said the technology delivers both strong brightness and accurate color reproduction at the same time.
Samsung Display also demonstrated new EL-QD panels with higher brightness levels. The company showed an 18-inch display capable of reaching 500 nits, up from 400 nits on the previous version.
A 6.5-inch EL-QD panel was also presented with 400 nits of brightness, representing a 33% improvement compared to last year’s similar display.
Another product shown at the event was Stretchable Display 2.0, designed for automotive instrument clusters. The display can physically expand and alter the appearance of the speedometer depending on driving conditions.
Samsung increased the pixel density to 200ppi from 120ppi on the earlier version. According to the company, 200ppi is considered the standard benchmark for automotive displays.
