Sony’s upcoming Sony Xperia 1 VIII appeared prematurely on Amazon listings in Germany and the UK, revealing its expected release date and several key specifications.
These listings were removed shortly afterward, but not before the details got leaked.
According to the listings, the Xperia 1 VIII is scheduled for release on June 26.
The listings showed pricing of $2,202 in Germany and $2,355 in the UK.
However, the prices may be placeholders rather than final retail pricing, as early retailer listings sometimes estimate launch prices before official confirmation.
The listed bundles also include a pair of Sony WH1000XM6 headphones alongside the smartphone.
The Xperia 1 VIII is expected to launch in Graphite Black, Iolite Silver, and Garnet Red color options. The Amazon listings did not include images of the phone.
The Xperia 1 VIII is listed with a 6.5-inch FHD+ OLED display featuring a 120Hz refresh rate.
The phone is also expected to include Xperia AI features, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and what Sony describes as “2-day battery” life.
According to the listings, the device will feature a triple rear camera system. The setup includes a 16mm ultrawide camera, a 24mm main camera, and a new 70mm telephoto camera.
Previously leaked renders had already suggested Sony is preparing a redesigned camera island for the device.
