The federal government has extended its ongoing austerity and fuel conservation measures until June 13, 2026, according to an official notification issued by the Cabinet Division.
The decision comes on the recommendations of the Committee for Monitoring and Implementation of Fuel Conservation and Additional Austerity Measures, and takes effect immediately.
As per the notification, several restrictions will remain in place, including:
- 50% reduction in fuel allocation for official vehicles
- 60% of government vehicles to remain grounded
- Complete ban on foreign visits and official travel, with limited exceptions already defined in earlier notifications
The Cabinet Division clarified that all previously notified austerity measures will continue to apply, and any measures without a defined end date will remain effective until further notice.

The restrictions on government spendings as mentioned should remain forever. Rather govt spendings in the form of perks etc should be totally eliminated or at least drastically slashed forther
Austerity for whom exactly ?
All military, political, govt and officials enjoy high pay and govt funded perks.
What austerity when cm has a 28 car escort . Pathetic
