Fresh details emerging from Pakistan’s ongoing Cambridge exam leak controversy suggest that some leaked papers are allegedly being sold online on social media platforms such as Reddit for as much as $110 (roughly Rs. 30,000)
The latest detail suggests that some individuals were charging candidates hefty amounts to access exam papers before they were held, turning a major breach of exam security into a money-making operation.
The issue has already triggered widespread concern after multiple Cambridge papers were leaked during the ongoing exam cycle, forcing scrutiny of how confidential material was accessed and circulated ahead of scheduled exams.
The latest official development came when Federal Education Minister Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui took notice of the matter and called for immediate action. He directed the relevant authorities to engage with Cambridge and pushed for a full investigation, saying students’ futures cannot be put at risk.
The minister also stressed that there could be no compromise on transparency and merit, while the ongoing leaks have continued to fuel anxiety among students and parents who fear honest candidates may suffer because of repeated security failures.
With exam papers being leaked and sold for profit, pressure is now growing for tougher safeguards and clear accountability to restore confidence in the examination process.
