Edifier has launched the Auro Ace over-ear headphones in China with a built-in dot matrix display on the earcup that can show lyrics and other information.
The headphones are priced at about $40 and are positioned as a budget model with a focus on visual customization.
Dot Matrix Display
The main feature of the Auro Ace is the animated dot matrix screen built into the earcup.
The display can show real-time song lyrics and audio spectrum animations when connected through Bluetooth. Users can also customize the screen through the Edifier Connect app with text, pixel art, graphics, and built-in themes.
Edifier is presenting the headphones as both an audio product and a visual accessory.
Design and Colors
The Auro Ace weighs about 130 grams, making it a lightweight over-ear headset.
The design includes a hidden adjustable headband, a swing joint structure for different head shapes, and soft ear cushions for longer listening sessions. The headphones are available in Silver, Black, and Gold color options.
Audio and Connectivity
The headphones use 32mm dynamic drivers with a rear acoustic cavity design.
For wireless connectivity, the Auro Ace supports Bluetooth 6.0 and dual device connection, allowing users to connect to two devices, such as a phone and a laptop, at the same time. It also supports plug-and-play USB audio for wired use.
Battery and Extra Features
Battery life is rated at up to 62 hours, though that figure applies when the dot matrix display is turned off, and the volume is set to 50%.
The headphones also support fast charging, giving about 11 hours of playback from a 15-minute charge. Edifier has included AI noise reduction for calls and a shortcut that lets users double-press the power button to trigger their phone’s camera shutter.
