Pakistan Railways Suspends 8 Trains Amid Rising Fuel Costs

Pakistan Railways has temporarily suspended eight passenger train services due to rising diesel prices, increased operational costs, and low passenger turnout.

The suspended services include the Bolan Mail, Khushhal Khan Khattak Express, Mehran Express, Chaman Passenger, Marvi Express, and Samn Sarkar Express. The Monjodaro Express and Ravi Express have also been halted to reduce fuel expenses.

Officials said declining passenger numbers also contributed to the decision, making operations financially unsustainable on several routes.

Railway authorities stated that the move aims to control rising fuel costs and improve operational efficiency under current financial constraints. A spokesperson added that services will be restored once conditions improve.
