The Balochistan Education Department has announced a five-day Eid al-Adha holiday for all government and private schools across the province, according to ARY News.
An official notification issued by the department stated that educational institutions will remain closed from Monday, May 25, to Friday, May 29, for Eid celebrations.
Schools across Balochistan will reopen on Monday, June 1, after the holidays.
The decision comes as provincial governments across Pakistan finalize holiday schedules for Eid al-Adha.
Earlier, the governments of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa also announced Eid holidays for their provinces.
Punjab declared a three-day public holiday from May 26 to May 28, matching the schedule issued by the federal government.
Meanwhile, the KP government announced a four-day Eid break from May 26 to May 29. The Sindh government also approved a four-day holiday period during the same dates.
As a result, residents of Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will enjoy a longer Eid weekend compared to Punjab and the federal government’s three-day schedule.
Officials said the federal government finalized the holiday timeline to allow citizens working away from their hometowns enough time to travel and celebrate Eid al-Adha with their families.
