Pakistan Braces for Heavy Rainfall and Hailstorms in Coming Days

The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast further heavy rainfall and hailstorms in several parts of the country over the coming days, warning of unstable weather conditions across multiple regions.

According to the department, parts of Punjab are expected to experience heavy rain and hail in some areas today.

In Islamabad, rain is likely in the evening, while showers are also expected in Rawalpindi, Murree, the Galyat region, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Narowal, Sahiwal, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Nankana Sahib, Faisalabad, Okara, Kasur, Multan, Khanewal, Lodhran, Muzaffargarh, and Rajanpur.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, heavy rain and hailstorms are also expected at several locations. Areas likely to be affected include Dir, Chitral, Swat, Kohistan, Malakand, Bajaur, Shangla, Battagram, Kohat, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, Khyber, Waziristan, Peshawar, Haripur, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Mardan, and Hangu.

Meanwhile, most districts of Sindh are expected to remain extremely hot and dry, although rain is forecast in Sukkur, Larkana, Jacobabad, Dadu, Ghotki, Kashmore, and Shikarpur.

In Balochistan, southern districts are likely to continue experiencing intense heat, while rain is also expected in Quetta, Zhob, Sherani, Ziarat, Chaman, Qila Abdullah, Qila Saifullah, Barkhan, Dera Bugti, Naseerabad, Kohlu, Musakhel, and Khuzdar.

The Met Office has advised citizens to take precautionary measures during heavy rainfall and hailstorms, warning of possible waterlogging in low-lying areas and disruptions to travel.
