Two of Murree’s most popular tourist attractions, the Patriata Cable Car and Kashmir Point Safari Train, have remained closed for the past three months despite the peak summer tourism season, leaving thousands of visitors disappointed.
The prolonged closure has raised concerns over the management and maintenance of key tourism facilities in the hill station. Tourists and local residents have criticized authorities for failing to restore operations despite repeated assurances.
According to reports, millions of rupees were spent last year on the repair and maintenance of the Patriata Cable Car, including the hiring of a foreign company. However, the facility reportedly developed technical issues again shortly after the work was completed.
The Kashmir Point Safari Train has also remained out of service for an extended period. Although officials have announced plans for its restoration on multiple occasions, the attraction has yet to resume operations.
Tourists and local business owners say the continued shutdown of both facilities is affecting visitor experience and causing financial losses to tourism-related businesses in the region.
They described the attractions as vital components of Murree’s tourism industry and called for their immediate restoration ahead of the busy summer season.
