PCB Warns Players and Officials Against Unapproved T20 Tournament in Rawalpindi

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has taken serious notice of reports about an unsanctioned and unapproved T20 cricket tournament scheduled to be held in Rawalpindi.

According to the PCB, the tournament also plans to hold a player draft in the coming days. However, the event has not obtained a No Objection Certificate from the board, which is required for private cricket tournaments.

The PCB has warned all players, officials, coaching staff, and other stakeholders in Pakistan’s cricket fraternity against participating in or working with the tournament.

The warning applies to centrally contracted players, domestically contracted players, and those registered with cricket clubs, departmental cricket teams, and district or regional cricket associations.

The PCB said any involvement in the tournament will be considered a breach of its regulations. The board also reserved the right to take due action against any player or official who participates in the event.

In addition, the PCB advised commercial and broadcast entities linked to the tournament to reevaluate their association with it.
