Traders Demand Extra Commercial Land Near Rawalpindi Ring Road

A meeting on land use planning along the Rawalpindi Ring Road (RRR) was held at the Rawalpindi Development Authority on Wednesday under the directions of Commissioner Rawalpindi and RDA Director General Engineer Amir Khattak.

The meeting was chaired by RDA Additional Director General Masood Ahmad Bukhari and attended by senior officials, including the chief planner of RDA, representatives of the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the deputy director of Local Government, and the CEO of Health Rawalpindi.

According to an RDA press release, participants were given a detailed presentation on decisions taken in the previous meeting held on May 15, 2026. The forum reviewed priority areas identified for land acquisition across different blocks and discussed departmental responsibilities for implementing the proposed land use plan.

Representatives of RCCI stressed the importance of allocating appropriate commercial and industrial zones along the Ring Road corridor to support economic activity and investment.

Officials informed the meeting that sufficient commercial and industrial areas have already been incorporated into the proposed plan to promote economic growth and sustainable regional development.

The Deputy Director of Local Government and CEO of Health Rawalpindi appreciated the planning efforts and lauded RDA’s work on the project. Participants assured full cooperation for the successful implementation of the land use strategy.

The Deputy Director of Local Government also said the proposed plan would be shared with relevant tehsil councils to obtain feedback and recommendations, ensuring a more consultative and inclusive planning process.

The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks, with all stakeholders reaffirming their commitment to coordinated planning and sustainable development along the Rawalpindi Ring Road corridor.
