The federal government has announced a major reduction in petroleum prices, giving much-needed relief to motorists across Pakistan.
According to the latest revision, the price of petrol has been reduced by Rs. 74 per litre, bringing it down from Rs. 373 per litre to Rs. 299 per litre. The price of diesel has also been cut by Rs. 67 per litre, falling from Rs. 378 per litre to Rs. 311 per litre.
The reduction is expected to ease daily travel costs for millions of motorcycle and car owners. It may also provide some relief to ride-hailing drivers, delivery riders, office commuters, students, and families who rely heavily on personal transport.
While the overall impact on transport fares and goods prices will depend on market response, the immediate benefit for vehicle owners is clear: a full tank now costs significantly less than before.
| Fuel Type | Old Price | Reduction | New Price |
| Petrol | Rs. 373/litre | Rs. 74/litre | Rs. 299/litre |
| Diesel | Rs. 378/litre | Rs. 67/litre | Rs. 311/litre |
Motorcycle owners are among the biggest everyday beneficiaries of the petrol price cut. Since bikes are the most common mode of transport in Pakistan, even a small per-litre reduction makes a noticeable difference in weekly and monthly fuel spending.
Here is how much it will now cost to fill the tank of popular motorcycles after the petrol price cut:
| Motorcycle Model | Fuel Tank Capacity | Old Full Tank Cost | New Full Tank Cost | Savings |
| Honda CD 70 | 8.5 litres | Rs. 3,171 | Rs. 2,542 | Rs. 629 |
| Honda CG 125 | 9.2 litres | Rs. 3,432 | Rs. 2,751 | Rs. 681 |
| United US 70 | 9 litres | Rs. 3,357 | Rs. 2,691 | Rs. 666 |
| Unique UD 100 | 10 litres | Rs. 3,730 | Rs. 2,990 | Rs. 740 |
| Yamaha YBR 125 | 13 litres | Rs. 4,849 | Rs. 3,887 | Rs. 962 |
| Suzuki GS 150 | 12 litres | Rs. 4,476 | Rs. 3,588 | Rs. 888 |
| Suzuki GSX 125 | 14 litres | Rs. 5,222 | Rs. 4,186 | Rs. 1,036 |
Among the listed motorcycles, Suzuki GSX 125 owners will save the most, with a full tank now costing Rs. 1,036 less. Yamaha YBR 125 owners will save Rs. 962, while Suzuki GS 150 owners will save Rs. 888 on every full tank.
For daily bike users, this reduction can make a real difference, especially for students, office workers, delivery riders, and small business owners who refuel several times a month.
Car owners will see a bigger reduction in full-tank costs because cars have larger fuel tanks. The savings can range from around Rs. 2,000 for small cars to more than Rs. 4,500 for larger vehicles.
Here is the estimated full-tank cost for popular cars after the petrol price cut:
| Car Model | Fuel Tank Capacity | Old Full Tank Cost | New Full Tank Cost | Savings |
| Suzuki Alto | 27 litres | Rs. 10,071 | Rs. 8,073 | Rs. 1,998 |
| Suzuki Cultus | 35 litres | Rs. 13,055 | Rs. 10,465 | Rs. 2,590 |
| Toyota Yaris | 42 litres | Rs. 15,666 | Rs. 12,558 | Rs. 3,108 |
| Toyota Corolla | 55 litres | Rs. 20,515 | Rs. 16,445 | Rs. 4,070 |
| Honda City | 40 litres | Rs. 14,920 | Rs. 11,960 | Rs. 2,960 |
| Honda Civic | 47 litres | Rs. 17,531 | Rs. 14,053 | Rs. 3,478 |
| Hyundai Elantra | 50 litres | Rs. 18,650 | Rs. 14,950 | Rs. 3,700 |
| Kia Sportage | 62 litres | Rs. 23,126 | Rs. 18,538 | Rs. 4,588 |
Among the listed vehicles, Kia Sportage owners will save the most, with a full tank now costing around Rs. 4,588 less. Toyota Corolla owners will save Rs. 4,070, while Hyundai Elantra owners will save Rs. 3,700 on a full tank.
Smaller cars will also become cheaper to refuel. For example, Suzuki Alto owners will save nearly Rs. 2,000, while Suzuki Cultus owners will save around Rs. 2,590 every time they fill up their tank.
The savings are based on the announced petrol price reduction of Rs. 74 per litre.
The calculation is simple:
Fuel tank capacity × Rs. 74 = Total savings on a full tank
For example, a Toyota Corolla with a 55-litre fuel tank will save:
55 × 74 = Rs. 4,070
Actual refueling cost may vary slightly depending on fuel tank capacity, pump rounding, and how much fuel is already present in the tank before refilling.
